Design + development

I’m Patric Teixeira, with a degree in Systems Analysis and Development and postgraduate studies in Artificial and Computational Intelligence.

My interest in technology began long before I saw it as a career. The first computer I got my hands on didn’t stay in one piece for long. I wanted to figure out what was inside and what made it respond.

For a while, that interest went quiet. Life took a different course. But some things stay with you; it takes time to find a way to express them.

Returning to technology meant taking an old part of myself seriously. Today, I study, design and code toward work that feels whole: an interface with rhythm, readable code and a structure that works without drawing attention to itself.

From a letter
to language.

01 / a typeface of my own

Synapsis.

A typeface family I designed, used in this site’s supporting headings, body copy and controls. Changes in weight create contrast between a heading and the text that follows.

Compare the same letterforms at three weights. Their outlines change, and so does the presence of the word.

02 / designing the logo

Inside
the logo.

Four quadrants. Straight lines, diagonals and arcs. The logo brings together the geometry that appears throughout the site’s rulers, diagrams and compositions.

The guides reveal the logo’s structure: two axes divide four fields, each built in its own way.

    relationship

The questions in the opening find their answers in the projects. The same visual language runs through the journey, from intent to finished work.
